The Sunbelt Expo starts the trade show season, and trade shows provide valuable information for manufacturers to gauge the mood of the industry. They also give possible direction of the economy that may influence the upcoming year.
For the supply side, trade shows provide a dual opportunity: one to showcase new products, and two – more importantly – an opportunity for manufacturers to receive comments and suggestions (feedback) for product improvement ideas from a diverse group of potential customers. The consumers provide valuable insight into customer needs; indicating how the supply side can provide support with equipment upgrades or new products to help solve the every day problems and challenges from the field.
Manufacturers look for new opportunities from show attendees and also look for signs to check the mood of the industry. If attendees/potential customers are positive and up-beat, the trade show atmosphere sends off good vibrations. Positive or negative, it’s a good place for both sides of the industry to gather information and forecast goals for next year.
Trade shows are necessary for both the consumer and supplier; consumers provide insight in industry needs and suppliers try to predict potential demands. Feedback from trade shows help set dealer early orders programs and possible production schedules for manufacturers. This is where both sides – consumers and suppliers – start preparing and planning for another year and hopefully we get some of it right so we have the opportunity to do it all over again.
